I AM MOVING THE SITE
November 10th, 2007 · No Comments
Attention peeps:
My current carrier network, Home Turf Media, is closing out shortly.
Fear not.
I am moving my blog, my love list, and my attitude to another site.
When I run this town my address will be SO MUCH COOLER, as will my graphics.
I will post the temp address this evening.
Loving you always,
KatLanta

How many times have I just been DYING to have my own personal makeup artist?
Hundreds. Literally hundreds.
How many times have I had my makeup done professionally?
Twice. (Once for a Cingular campaign I posed for and once as a band-aid from this salon after they fucked up styled my hair. The yellow eyeshadow was kind of cute. My orange locks were not.)
Anyhow, clicking here will take you to a better place where you can buy a kit that comes with both products and a guide for doing smokey eyes, comme ca:
Also, E.L.F. (EyesLipsFace) sells cosmetics for A DOLLAR A PIECE.
ONE DOLLAR.
And they don’t even test on animals, so no kittens go home with hair as orange as mine was after that unfortunate trip to the salon.

This past Friday evening I was shopping in Lenox mall.
And I’m a cheap bitch, so I was wearing it out in the Wet Seal.
I bought the dress below, wore it with black tights and slouchy boots, and had a 17-year-old tell me that it made my “ass look like gold.”
That is a quote. Here it is in the color I bought. $17, kids.
And before the hate mail rolls in, let me remind you that 17 is delicious legal in Georgia.
Flame away.
Atlanta this — Crimson Lily and C.B. Herrera

There are very few times in my life when I can say “Those are some sexy earrings.”
Witness two sexy earring designers below.
I’ve had opportunity to examine a few local jewelry designers in the last week, and there are two we should be supporting to our fullest ability: Crimson Lily and C.B. Herrera.
I couldn’t find a picture of the pair I own on the website, but I’ll upload some digicam business sometime later. However, below are some other sexy earrings from Crimson Lily’s website that are going on my holiday wish list.
Delicious smooth brown circles feel super spicy when you bump them up against silver and amber. The line specializes in what seems to be a tactile buffet. Each one of the pieces can be worn for beautification or rubbed between fingers to calm yourself down. I’ve some light pink swirlies that I can’t keep my hands off of.
Chameleons: Silver, garnet, and stones. $15
Clickety-click to follow your heart.
Other sexiness can be found in the jewelry of C.B. Herrera. Admittedly a bit on the expensive side for me, but we should all support of local designers. And these pieces are LUSCIOUS.
Dig this necklace below. It’s titled the “Mai Lynn” necklace and with 14k gold, Swarovski, amber pieces, and real silk its still within a frugal shopper’s budget at $85.
Okay peeps. Start your engines– holiday shopping is ON.
Real quick here–

Sorry I’ve not updated much this week. I am working on all kinds of projects right now.
BUT
Creative Cause was great. And I have all kinds of things to talk about that relate to that event. I’ll write them up tonight or tomorrow.
Loves!

What Kathryn is Doing today — Happy Halloween!
October 31st, 2007 · No Comments
Greetings Cupcakes. I’m posting at 5:52am because I’ve been awake since 3:30. If anyone has a great, non-drug induced remedy for insomnia, please write me!
Now then: Dress-like-a-Hoe- Halloween Pictures.
Moi: American Apparel sock dress, $28. Urban Outfitters belt, $5. Forever21 headband, $2. Shoes from Marshalls, $10. Legwarmers, I actually wear them as a dancer. Target earrings, $6. Home-dyed wig, $10. Mac eyeshadow, $10.
I dyed all those wigs, kids! All of them! Like a freaking mad scientist, or like someone who doesn’t have obligations so she actually has TIME to piddle with things like Hand Dyed Wigs.
–But whatev guys. Good times have always been my number one priority. (See you at Creative Cause, right?)
We actually had several girls in their early twenties say something to the effect of “OH MY GOSH! It’s JEM!”
Totally worthwhile.
Side note– Be sure to only give your trick or treaters full size candy bars if you live in an apartment, kiddies. I’ve had a grand total of fourteen in the last two years, so the least I can do is give them a big bite of sugar.

Atlanta this — Something worth $60

Here is a suggestion for an event (at which you will likely meet moi) that might be worth the cash it costs you:
It’s $45 for the event and $60 for a VIP pass. And it’s an AIDS benefit. For children.
Yeah, you should come with me.
Clickity click for the website, loves. Can’t wait to party with you at the open bar.
Ask Katlanta — FX wha?
October 25th, 2007 · No Comments
Kathryn,
I read your guide on how to dye an acrylic wig, and I was wondering if the same thing would work on an acrylic fake fur coat.
I also did a quick search for FX Ink and couldn’t find it. Is it available at chain arts and crafts stores like Michaels?
Thanks for your help,
Ike
Ike dearie, I would imagine that it would indeed work on fake fur. Just spot test it first.
I don’t know if they carry FX at Michaels. I purchased mine at Pearl Arts and Crafts. I imagine any art specialty store would carry it. Maybe Utrecht?
Thank you, Ike, for finally giving me good reason to have a BFA in Art History– I could reasonably answer both of your questions.
So are you going to be the Jolly Green Pimp for Halloween or something?
